I recently made a guest appearance on The Brian Nichols Show with my pal and fellow podcaster Brian Nichols. An expert from this interview is a good summary of how my view of politics have changed over the last twenty months or so:
I think that, in many ways, politics was like still like a hobby. To me, it was just a fun thing to talk about. Now, I can go to Libertarian Party conventions and hang out with like-minded people, and we can go party afterwards to hang out on Bourbon Street, we can make jokes about Mises and Rothbard. And we all get it and it's not weird. It's fun people you can get along with.
And that's kind of like how I took it... and the candidates who run in the LP... we know they're not going to win. And they know, they come on my show, and I invite them on, they tell me, they're not going to win. And we all agree they're not going to win. And it's all fun, it's all well and good.
But now, after the last year, this isn't a game anymore. This is actually affecting everybody's life now. No one can really say they're not affected by this stuff at this point.
I think this is the best explanation of my shift from “happy -go-lucky Marc” to “Angry Marc”, as my friend Dave Smith likes to refer to me nowadays (I swear I’m really not angry, but there’s no point in fighting the branding at this point.
As I’ve explained in several other forums, I no longer see myself as simply “The Watcher” of the Libertyverse. Rather, times have gotten so extreme that I’ve had to intervene and share more of my personal view through my own transformational experiences throughout the COVID Compliance Regime.
When nearly every American is under threat of being forced to inject something into their body in order to simply work and feed their family, it’s difficult to see any of this as just a fun hobby anymore. This is literally a battle of life and death, and in many ways, a war for our souls.

Meanwhile, if you’re going to take one thing away from “Angry Marc” it should be that the time to achieve financial autonomy and stop relying on one corporate job is yesterday. Politics: It's Not a Hobby, Anymore
"But now, after the last year, this isn't a game anymore. This is actually affecting everybody's life now. No one can really say they're not affected by this stuff at this point."
It was affecting your life before and you just didn't notice. We actually touched on this on your podcast years ago, I pointed out that most people lack the imagination to see how things might be and ought to be, ergo they aren't bothered by how they are. So, they don't care.
And most of these people who think they now care are only single-issue people, they STILL can't see the fundamental problems and how those really impact their lives and other people's lives. But, at least they have an example to draw a parallel to now, in case they really finally decide to wake the hell up, so that's nice.
