This past Monday night I hosted a gargantuan two-hour podcast with Pete Quinones and Cyprian / Vin Armani, partially to reflect on the podcasts they did together during the onset of the COVID regime that were very influential to me, but more so to gauge their brains on what they see as the best way for people to move forward with the knowledge gained from the last two years. You can access it right now on the Lions of Liberty Patreon or Locals page.
During the tale end of the livestream, friend and fellow podcaster Buck Johnson of the Counterflow podcast commented “it’s better to be 3 seconds early than 3 seconds late” and that comment really does sum up the urgency that people like Cyprian, Pete and myself have had over the last couple of years when we, in our own various ways, encourage people to change their situation in regards to the very obviously different era we have entered into. This sense of urgency has often earned me the “black pilled” label in recent times.
Buck is a firefighter, so I can imagine this phrase rings even more true in his profession. I’ve never fought a fire in my life, but I imagine nobody has ever gotten to a raging fire “too early.” Worst case? The fire hasn’t gotten that bad yet and is easy to put out - no harm, no foul.
But if you’re 3 seconds - or even 1 second - too late? Well, now the house has been burned down. There is nothing left to save.
I can’t think of a more perfect analogy for the messaging of the last two years, and why people like us have been critical of “long game” strategies such as “takeover the Libertarian Party and eventually start a brush fire of liberty across the country.” That strategy may have it’s time and place, but for those putting all their energy into it right now, there’s a good chance that by the time you see the real flames at your door it will be too late.
There will be nothing left to save.
